Oahu

Oahu is the most popular island in the State of Hawaii. It attracts the most of th visitors. It is the third largest of the Hawaiian Islands also known as “The Gathering Place”. On the southeast coast, there located the state capital Honolulu. The total land area is near about 1500 square kms. The island formed due to the two volcanoes namely Waianae and Koolau.

It is said to be “The Gathering Place” because it comprimises the most of the population of the state. Today, Oahu name itself as a big tourism and shopping hub as over five million visitors from all over the world comes every year to enjoy the beauty of the island.

Top beaches of the Oahu are
1.  Ala Moana Beach :: It is free public park, located between Waikiki and Honolulu. This is basiclly 100 acre park, carrying the gold sand in it. The main thing about the park is  that it is man made.

2. Hanauma Bay :: It is loacted at the south east of the Oahu. The word Hanauma came from two words Hana + uma where hana means ‘bay’ and uma means ’shelter,  means “Shelter Bay” the rest “Bay” is a tautology.

3. Kailua Beach :: Many visitors called this beach as the best Hawaii beach and also it is been shown in 1998 when it is named as the beach in US.

4. Lanikai Beach ::  This beach is very mall nearly .5 miles, is considered as the best beach in the world. It is the best place for photo shoots and very crowdy on weekends.

5. Waikiki Beach ::  Waikiki Beach is noted for its best views of the Diamond Head, the dormant volcano. It has usually warm and cloud-free climate which makes the  weather more pleasant.

6. Waimanalo Beach :: It is highly inhabitent place containg nera about 5000 people. This place is considered as very peaceful becayse it is far away fom tourist.
